"I bought the original Rido
saddle at a point where I was feeling so uncomfortable that I was about to give
up bike riding. It changed everything!"
"I'm glad to join what must be a huge list of supporters and
endorsers of your product. I bought the original Rido saddle at a point where I
was feeling so uncomfortable that I was about to give up bike riding. It changed
everything! The R2 is even better. Your price is extremely fair, even
including the shipping to the United States, and you make a product that is an
absolute Godsend to cyclists. Thank you so much!" R.E.W, San Francisco, California,
USA
"Have two Rido R2's on our tandem and so far have done
2-300 hundred miles on them. Captain very happy with experience - all the
shortcomings of original Rido have been addressed with great success. Stoker
trying it out for the first time - I hated the original Rido (my husband used
the original Ridos with a gel pad), but the Rido R2, so far, seems good. It is
certainly relieving the centre pressure although my sit bones feel it rather
hard. (despite suspension seat post). I am sure I will adapt, although you could
also consider an additional layer of gel on the pad for the wimps like me! (I
would be your first customer and more than willing to road test!) My husband
also has 2 Rido R2's on his solo bikes and likes them there too!" Mrs L.B, Weston-super-Mare, North , UK
"I
have been using the RIDO saddle for commuting/leisure - really pleased with it.
It looks good and feels really comfortable compared to previous saddles.
Thanks." C.S, Preston
Lancashire, UK
"Bought the R2 for my static "spinning" bike on which
after 30/35 minutes I would come off barely able to walk and my nether regions
looking like I'd been stood outside on a very cold day. I can now comfortably
cycle for over an hour and spring off upright and hanging like God intended! I
would definitely recommend this saddle to anyone who uses a static cycle. A very
small investment in this saddle allows you to get far more out of a very
expensive piece of exercise equipment." A.H, Bradford, West
Yorkshire, UK
"It is
the first saddle (I've tried about 4 until now) that kept away the numbness
completely. WIth the other saddles I could only manage a max of 45 minutes"
B.P, Hoorn,
Netherlands
"I
do practically all of the kinds of cycling you list, except turbo training (have
to be outdoors). Love the R2 which I've recently installed on my number 1 bike,
not yet tested as far as the R1 on which I completed the Styrkeproven in 21
hours pretty comfortably. All the best to you and many thanks." H.L, Crossington,
Leicester, UK
"From now on, I can enjoy again riding
‘normal’ bikes! Thank you very much!"
"A few months ago,
having discovered your internet site, I bought a Rido saddle to test it. I
wanted to make an opinion by myself. I was fully satisfied though (except for)
the ‘special’ look of that model. At that time, only yellow / blue models were
available. As soon as the R2 model was available, I ordered one. At this
moment, I’ve ridden more than 2000 km on both models with a lot of pleasure. I
use it on my commuting bike (ORBEA Euskatel replica 2003) and on my mountain
bike (VIPER World Cup 2005). I would like to thank you for having developed
that type of saddle. I’ve been riding bikes for so many years on painful saddles
that I had to stop for a while. With an average distance of 5000 km per year,
I’ve been really hurt by some models. I then commuted on a recumbent bike
(CHALLENGE Hurricane), but although that kind of bike is really comfortable, it
is very dangerous in the current traffic conditions as it is not really visible
by the other motorists. From now on, I can enjoy again riding ‘normal’ bikes!
Thank you very much! (PS: If you ever need a dealer or importer for your
products in Belgium, I’m yours!!)" M.D, Andenne,
Belgium, UK
"The RIDO R2 has been super. My wife and I have enjoyed
both. They alleviate much of the strain and pain of biking - especially in
comparison to the standard issue seats that are standard equipment on most road
and trail bikes." B.F, Richmond,
Virginia,
USA
"If it weren't for the Rido
saddles I wouldn't be contemplating taking part in a couple of Sportives after
the Rugby season finishes next year"
"I've been very
pleased with both my original and now the new R2. I cycle to keep me fit for
Rugby and was suffering from severe pain down below. I tried quite a few saddles
but none resolved the problem, although I found the ones with the gap up the
middle did help a little. One saddle was particularly bad and left me numb for 2
days afterwards, which was very worrying. Basically, the Rido saddles are
the main reason that my Sunday rides have lengthened from 30 miles to 70+ miles
because any more than 30 was absolute torture. If it weren't for the Rido
saddles I wouldn't be contemplating taking part in a couple of Sportives after
the Rugby season finishes next year. As cyclists go I'm at the bigger end of
the scale principally because I'm a rugby prop forward, 6ft tall and 16.5 stone.
I ride a Focus Cayo racing cycle and the R2 complements it very nicely. I also
like the idea of such a great product having been invented in the UK. Many
thanks for a great product." N.A,
Harlow,
Essex, UK
"...they're great seats!"
"I am very pleased with
the Rido R2. Rode the 1st generation seat and now use the new R2. Using it for
Rail to Trail type rides on crushed limestone surface. Have ridden 107 miles on
it since receiving the R2 and no complaints. Just wondering if you have a
referral program. I referred my cousin to your site and he bought 2 seats....
FYI, he said they're great seats!" R.F, Sharonville, Ohio,
USA
"... you appear to have succeeded in
making the saddle more comfortable than the previous one, which was already the
most comfortable saddle I've ever used!"
"You might
remember that I was missing a screw from my saddle, and you very quickly sent me
a new screw and thoughtfully sent it to my home address so that I'd get it on
the weekend. This was much appreciated and sorry I didn't reply at that time,
but I thought I'd wait until I could write about the saddle too. If I'm
honest, first visual impressions were that it was the same as the first saddle,
but with some cushion bits screwed on and a doubled price tag. I bought it to go
on my triathlon race bike (having got a glow-in-the-dark saddle for my training
bike), but now that the race season is over I've stuck it on the training bike
to try it out. Having actually ridden on it, all is forgiven! The 'cushiony
bits' really seem to help spread the weight out better, and there seems to be
less time 'getting used to it' than with the other one. I also prefer the
covering to the 'rubbery' cover of the previous saddle. So well done, you appear
to have succeeded in making the saddle more comfortable than the previous one,
which was already the most comfortable saddle I've ever used! I'm still not
actually completely sold on the aesthetics, I like being able to see the
supporting framework on the glow in the dark one, so a new saddle with a
translucent (if not glow in the dark) cover would suit my tastes! Looking
forward to being able to get different coloured pads for it too." N.T, Stocksfield,
Northumberland, UK
"I
used a Rido R2 saddle to complete a 200km Audax ride with no problems and can
recommend it. Best wishes for future sales." F.B, Washington, Tyne &
Wear, UK
"So far I have been riding 2 to 3 times a week 50 km
rides on a road bike with the new saddle. My height is 1.92 m and I am weighing
about 110 kg. I am using a pretty much forward leaning position and so far had
no groin numbness problems. This part of the design is working well.
Furthermore, the saddle has a great suspension effect to it." L.F, Davis, California,
USA
"I think it's worth every penny and I
would recommend it to anyone"
"I'm using it (the R2)
mainly for commuting - about 100-120 miles a week at a fairly fast pace. It's on
a touring bike and is very comfortable. (I had a Brooks B17 on it originally but
couldn't get it to go back far enough because the rails aren't straight, which
is why I bought the Rido.) It's really comfortable, and the thin front makes it
easier to ride than the Brooks - I immediately noticed the lack of drag between
the legs. (And the lack of rivets at the other end). Nice long rails, and I can
ride right off the back of it quite comfortably. I think it's worth every
penny and I would recommend it to anyone." J.C, Romsey,
Hampshire, UK
"The saddle is quite unique and I found
it to be very comfortable!"
FIXED GEAR MANIACS / BLOGSPOT: 'New Rido Saddle'
"I
had the opportunity to try the new Rido Saddle. Rido is a British made saddle
that is popular in the U.K. It looks different from your traditional saddle in
that it's almost Y shaped. It looks kinda like a stealth bomber. I decided the
best way to try it would be to put it on my daily commuter. I'll have to admit I
was a little skeptical at first. I installed it perfectly horizontal, but found
I tended to slip off to the front. After communicating with the manufacturer
they told me this saddle needs to be installed with a slight upward tilt. This
solved the problem. The saddle is quite unique and I found it to be very
comfortable! Another thing which is pretty cool is since there is so little
contact on the saddle you can relieve any pressure by staying seated and locking
one leg out which slightly raises you off the saddle. The design looks like it's
well made and will hold up to daily abuse. This saddle makes a great commuter
saddle and would probably make a great touring saddle. Any of you out there
having trouble finding a comfortable saddle may want to give this a shot. If you
would like to learn more about this saddle check them out." R.F, Miami, Florida, USA (
fixedgearmaniacs.blogspot.com )
PS:
"Nice design - keep up the good work. I'm sending you a shot of the bike which
you're welcome to use, showing you have cyclists as far as Miami riding your
saddle. The bike's yellow so the saddle looks real sharp!"

"...he says he's found the most
perfect saddle"
"I have the original Rido, and last month
ordered the R2 for my boyfriend. Both of us were seriously bummed out about the
state of cycling saddles. I had reduced my cycling to the shortest trips, not
being able to withstand anything beyond a few miles. Over the span of months I
bought, and tried, and returned maybe a half dozen different saddles, including
women's specific, but to no avail. My boyfriend was in the same position, and
had finally settled on a noseless saddle, which allowed him to continue his 100+
mile per week commuting schedule, but which he still wasn't happy with. I
ordered a Rido for myself first, and loved it, and insisted he order one for
himself. He really couldn't be happier; he says he's found the most perfect
saddle. Just last week he recommended the saddle to a septuagenarian who had
given up bicycles in favor of a trike, because of the saddle. For my part, I'd
love to give everyone who rides a bike a Rido saddle, because it's certainly
allayed that sense of dread I used to feel when anticipating that awful soft
tissue pain." T.R, Inianapolis,
Indianna,
USA
"Absolutely love the
saddle!"
"Absolutely love the saddle! I use it on my tandem
as the stoker. I have been riding the tandem for two years and have tried 3
saddles. Tried every single bike saddle that worked for me, but on the tandem,
still had very uncomfortable ride because of the saddles after only 20 miles.
Found your Rido saddle online. Received in the mail two days before we did
an 80-mile benefit ride over hilly terrain in South Carolina. Had not even
broken it in, just sat on it to get height, etc. correct. 30 miles into the
ride, I still had no pain. After 80 miles just some slight saddle soreness.
I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS SADDLE FOR ANY STOKER THAT HAS BEEN RIDING
ON AN UNCOMFORTABLE SADDLE. I complemented it to everyone that would listen.
My husband also loved it! We rode the 80 miles without me whining, complaining
and having to break every 10 miles." G.W.B, Charlotte, North Carolina,
USA
"I would like to congratulate you with the improvements
made to the 2’nd model (R2). I haven’t had much time for long trips, I am in the
final stage of my master thesis, but this model gives me the feeling of a firmer
and more concentrated platform, still very comfortable." M.G, Copenhagen,
Denmark
"I've had my Rido saddle
for about a month now and heartily echo all that's been written about seating
position - very comfortable!" M.D,
Liverpool, UK
